Dave is very special to me. We met at an inclusive Christian Church service, 2:23, in around 2017 and have been good friends since. He is like a gay uncle to me. He has been an incredible source of support throughout my transition and even paid for my change of name on my passport. We have had many long conversations about a number of different topics and I have always found his words greatly comforting, full of wisdom, and kindness. He came to my lower surgery consultation in 2023 and was going to visit me in hospital next week. I have seen him several times a year for the past seven years and I will greatly miss him. I wish all the best to his loved ones as they mourn a great loss to the lives of them and so many others. He made such a big difference to the lives of so many people - notably many within the LGBTQ+ community - and is one of the few people in the world that could truly be considered an angel.
